About Unit Rate.co.uk

A specialist UK energy-rate calculation and data resource. We take the figures Ofgem publishes and turn them into answers about your own home.

What the site does

Google can tell you the average unit rate. That is rarely the question people actually have. Ours is the next layer: what that rate costs at your usage, how it compares with your current tariff, whether the unit rate or the standing charge is the thing to shop on, and what the next cap period does to your bill.

Every calculation runs in seconds, with no account, no email address and no results held back behind a form.

Where the numbers come from

One source: official Ofgem price cap publications, imported manually and checked before they go live. Every figure on the site carries its source, the period it applies to and the date we last verified it. If we do not hold a published figure for a combination, we say so instead of estimating. See our sources or read the calculation methodology.

What we are not

We are not Ofgem and have no affiliation with it. We are not a switching service and do not claim to search the whole market. We never tell you that you will save money unless your own figures say so.

Common questions

Do I need an account?
No. Nothing on the site requires registration or an email address.
Is it free?
Yes. Some links to energy products may earn a commission, which never changes a calculation or a published Ofgem figure.
