Unit Rate.co.uk provides its calculators and energy-rate information free of charge. We may receive a commission if you choose a product through certain links. This does not change the calculation results or the Ofgem benchmark data we show you.
What this means in practice
Benchmarks come from official Ofgem publications and are the same for every visitor. Calculations use the figures you enter and nothing else. No commercial arrangement can reorder a result, alter a benchmark or change a verdict on whether your rate is expensive.
Commercial links only ever appear after a complete, useful answer. We do not place them above calculators, we do not hold results behind a form, and we do not use countdowns or manufactured urgency.
What we do not claim
We do not search the whole energy market, and we do not describe ourselves as doing so. We do not tell you that you will save money — only your own numbers, compared with the official benchmark, can support a statement like that.
