If your meter reads in cubic metres
Convert the reading to kWh first, otherwise the answer will be roughly eleven times too small. The gas m³ to kWh calculator does the conversion and the costing in one step.
Mistakes that change the answer
- Costing cubic metres as if they were kWh.
- Assuming gas usage is even across the year — most of it lands in four winter months.
- Comparing a gas rate against an electricity benchmark.
